Good Morning New Zealand.

Our drive from Phoenix to LA was a pleasant one.
We arrived in time for the sunset and a quick swim in the Pacific.

The 12+ hour flight was not too bad, a nap, some dinner, a few walks, another nap, a movie, some breakfast.... it went fast and we had the stretch room from the empty seat next to us!

We are at Steve's friends Ben & Gen's who happen to have an empty apt. next to them which we are considering renting for three months. It was great to have friends welcome us! Gen picked us up from the airport and as we were packing in the van a guy came up and asked if there was room for one more! He thought she was a taxi! haha!

We then searched a few apts Steve found. The first one was not going to work the min. we stepped in and the second he told us there was not a stovetop.
The second one was an old hospice and more of a co-op living style. You get a bedroom with a on suite bath... then you share all the common spaces + the best view. But it was in our price range.

This apt. next door is out shinning the others and we really like the idea of being close to friends and the option to get a roommate. it has two bedrooms but from the small space we had been living, we could easily just move into the main living space with the view!

The weather is the crisp cool air that wakes you up and keeps you moving. We are headed to get phones today and see a bit of the town.

I also am feeling like a kid as things are familiarly strange. Curb was spelled Kerb. and the street signs have a whole new twist on way finding. I am actually quite excited to go to the grocery and find more items that are called something different.
The scenery is breathtaking. Its the best of mountains and hillside towns I loved so much in Europe. The people have already been so kind and the smiles on Steve and I's faces are wide.
7:40 am and we are waking up to the sunrise across from the beach!
We are joyfully comfy!
